Reduce Information Overload

Use the communication channels in a way that doesn’t require employees to constantly monitor their notifications. Deep work is not possible when attention needs to be paid to alerts. Develop or share an IT explainer/help manual to explain the consequences of constant interruptions on decreased focus and increased fatigue, including an explainer on how to turn off notifications or make them less intrusive (no sound etc.). Where required, work with your team to establish specific times when they need to be immediately available for work discussions. Outside of these hours, empower them to turn off notifications and focus on their own tasks.
