Optimise conditions for deep work

Optimise your conditions before starting a peak performance work period

  • Eat and hydrate
  • Cancel out noise and disturbances – try using noise-cancelling headphones if that works for you
  • Place a ‘do not disturb’ sign at the door or post-it on your work desk

Some people may come to work early or use other periods where they know they will not be distracted for deep work; ideally though these periods will align with natural ultradian rhythms for peak performance.
