Nap Directly After Learning if You Can

Memory is consolidated during sleep. Even a quick afternoon power-nap of 10-30 minutes, with an ideal length of about 20 minutes, can have a tremendous impact in helping you consolidate your learning.

If you can, try and build in power-naps post deep learning sessions to increase the likelihood of the learned material sticking.

This is especially true if the material is not well-connected. In a study, where participants are learning conceptually unrelated word pairs, it was shown that those after a day-time nap remembered the presented material better compared to those without.
