Assessing Our Workspace

INTRODUCTION

Your workspace should inspire efficient, focused, and creative work. We recognise that space limitations or high work density outside your office can hinder this ideal. However, issues within your workspace can also prevent it from reaching its full potential.

The first step to optimising your workspace is identifying and addressing barriers or shortcomings. This section focuses on bodily sensations, like pain, that can accumulate during work and impact your well-being and cognitive performance.

This quiz is designed to foster greater awareness of brain health but is not intended to replace the expertise of medical or mental health professionals. For more information about the role of quizzes on GetBrainHealthy, read more here.

INSTRUCTIONS

The purpose of this exercise is to reflect on the negative effects that prolonged periods of sitting or screen work may have on your body and identify changes to alleviate these effects.

In this quiz, we provide prompts to reflect on how your workspace might be impacting your overall well-being. Focus on the following when you go through the prompts:

  • Daily Comparison: Compare your physical sensations at the beginning and end of the workday. For instance, do you feel tension in your neck and back, or experience headaches by the evening?
  • Weekly Accumulation: Compare the first and last workday of the week to see if these effects build up over time.
